Football fans in New Zealand are embracing the sport after the introduction of the new Rugby League Super League.
Rugby League New Zealand will debut its inaugural season on August 30.
Rugby league players and officials will be taking part in a series of games in Auckland and Christchurch.
The league has already received support from local community organisations and Rugby League NZ has partnered with the NZ Rugby Union to provide a range of coaching and mentoring opportunities.
Players will be competing in the Super League with the help of former Canterbury United star Sam Burgess.
In total, 14 Super League players will compete in the inaugural season, which will be streamed live on the NRL’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Ruger league will be played in two divisions, the Championship and Super League, with the winner going to the NRL grand final in 2020.
