The Hawaii football team suffered a crushing blow as they fell to the University of Hawaii at Mānoa 34-3 on Saturday.
The defense held a 34-7 halftime lead and was able to hold the lead until the final minutes.
Hawaii’s defense allowed three touchdowns and the offense had just two plays of 40 yards or more.
The offense finished the day with three touchdowns of 40 or more yards.
Hawaii had a chance to tie the game with less than a minute left, but the defense made a great stop.
Hawaiians kicker Daniel Johnson hit a 54-yard field goal as time expired to make it 49-49.
The ball sailed high and the Hawaii offense was able with timeouts to make a game-winning field goal.
The game will be televised nationally on ABC at 8 p.m. on Saturday night.
