The best college game of this season?
It’s been that time of year again.
The time to discuss this game is right now.
We’ll look at all the top games from the last week.
We also take a look at the best games of the past month.
This week’s games: Week 7: Stanford vs. Notre Dame, Saturday, noon ET (ESPN) Notre Dame’s win over Stanford on Saturday night is one of the best non-conference wins in recent memory.
And, the Cardinal have an early lead in the Pac-12 South.
The game is a must-win for the Trojans, who have lost four of their last five.
Notre State has won five straight against the Cardinal and their last loss was a 17-17 win in the 2009 Orange Bowl.
Stanford, meanwhile, has a losing record against the Irish, winning four straight and falling to the Irish in the 2006 Orange Bowl to end their season.
But this game might be the biggest story of the week.
This is the week that everyone has been waiting for.
Stanford has the No. 1 defense in the nation and has been better than that all season.
The Cardinal have held Notre Dame to just two touchdowns and two interceptions in the past two games.
But Notre Dame is a much better team than the Cardinal, which is why it’s so important for Stanford to win this game.
The Trojians have been playing better football all season, so if the Cardinal can’t get the offense rolling, Notre Dame will have to settle for field goals and turnovers.
Stanford should have plenty of time to get going.
They have the Pac‑12’s best offense (8.8 yards per carry) and the No.-2 defense (17.4 points allowed per game).
The Cardinal could be in for a big night.
They’ve been so good in the first half of games, Stanford has scored just six points and allowed just 17 in the second half.
But the Cardinal’s defense is the one that’s been the most consistent this season.
They’re allowing just 3.5 yards per play and have held opponents to just 18 points over their last seven.
Stanford’s defense was outstanding last week against Washington State and is coming off a huge win over UCLA.
It should be a great game for the Cardinal.
Stanford will also need to keep up the pressure against the Troodos.
Notre Dams’ defense has been much better than the defense of Stanford.
They are No. 5 in the country in points allowed (21.4 per game) and are No-2 in total defense (122.5).
Stanford should be able to get the defense to start pressuring the quarterback a little bit.
Notre-Dams coach Brian Kelly has made it a point to get pressure on quarterbacks and is a very effective coordinator.
Stanford is one win away from a bowl game and Notre Dame should be looking for another big win.
It’s hard to say if this game will be a shootout, but it could be.
Stanford and Notre-Daems are ranked No. 8 in the AP poll, so a win is important for them.
Notre is ranked No-4 in the S&P+ Top 25 and Stanford is No. 7.
The rest of the Pac–12 teams are No: 1 and No. 4.
The winner of this game can clinch the No, 1 seed in the division and the fourth seed in either conference.
This game is the biggest test for all of the teams playing this week, so it will be exciting to watch.
It will be interesting to see how the Pac‐12 schedule turns out.
The conference schedule has been released this week.
The Pac-10 schedule will be released on Tuesday.
